Communication

As a school we communicate with parents is a variety of ways.

Text Messages: We use Teachers2Parents to send text messages to parents. Text messages can only be sent to one mobile number, so please ensure we are notified which parent/guardian should receive these text messages. It is essential we have your current mobile number. Parents cannot reply to these text messages.

Email Messages:  We use Email2Parents to send email messages to parents. Email messages can be sent to two email addresses, so please ensure we are notified which parents/guardians should receive these email messages. It is essential we have your current email addresses. Parents cannot reply to these email messages.

Newsletters: We use Email2Parents to send class & whole school newsletters. Newsletters can also be found in the Newsletters section of our website.

Letters: We use Email2Parents to send some letters. If a letter has a reply slip, these will always be printed and sent home with your child. Letters can also be found in the Letters section of our website.

If you have issues accessing any of the above information, please speak to the school office.

Illness/First Aid
Sickness/Tummy Bug: If your child has suffered a sickness or tummy bug, they should be clear of the symptoms for
48hrs before returning to school.

Other Illness: If you are unsure if your child should be kept off school, this website is very useful helping make the right decision http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/Yourchildatschool/Pages/Illness.aspx

Prescription Medication: We are able to administer prescribed medication. Please bring medication to the school office and complete a consent form.

Bumped Head: If your child bumps their head during the school day, a Bumped Head Record Sheet will be sent home via their book bag.

Plasters: If a plaster has been applied at school, it is recommended this be removed and the cut/graze be cleaned at home the same day. If your child is allergic to the plasters used at school, could you please provide plasters suitable for your child. These will be stored in the school office.

Would you like your child to have subsidised milk at school?

Children under 5 years of age have a free serving of milk each day at school. Children who are eligible for benefit based free school meals, are also entitled to have a free serving of milk each day at school.

If your child is over 5 years of age, and is not eligible for benefit based free school meals, they can receive a subsidised serving of milk each day at school. Please register your child via the Cool Milk website:

http://www.coolmilk.com/

Water Bottles
Year R children will be given a water bottle when they start in September. Children are encouraged to have a water bottle in school at all times. Replacement water bottles must be provided by parents.

Book Bags
Year R children will be given a book bag when they start in September. Children should bring their book bag into school everyday.
Replacement book bags can be purchased from the school office at a cost of £4.25.

Arrangements for Car Parking
If the children are brought to school by car then the car park at the rear of Titchfield Community Centre (entrance via Mill Street) should be used and the children can then come to and from school by use of the footpath. The lay-by on the A27 should not be used for dropping off or collecting children. Please do not use the staff car parkfor dropping off or collecting children, as this is used for those children who come by taxi.

Family Holiday
Legislation changed in September 2013 on Leave of absence from school during term time for the purposes of a family holiday. Holiday will only be approved in exceptional circumstances.

Availability of Documents

Following the Freedom of Information Act, all school documents are available on request from the school office.

Complaints

We expect that if you have any problems or complaints, these can be resolved through informal discussion with the class teacher or Headteacher. Should this not be the case, there is a formal procedure for the consideration of complaints which the Headteacher will explain to you.
